The International Board on Books for Young People (IBBY) is a non-profit organization which represents an international network of people from all over the world who are committed to bringing books and children together. IBBY was founded in Zurich, Switzerland, in 1953. Today, it is composed of seventy National Sections all over the world. The Spanish IBBY Section is OEPLI, Organización Española para el Libro Infantil y Juvenil, located in Madrid. OEPLI is divised into the following four areas sections, wich represent the linguistic and cultural diversity of Spain: Consejo General del Libro Infantil (Castilian section); CCLIJ Consell Català del Llibre per a Infants i Joves (Catalan section); GÁLIX Asociación Galega do Libro Infantil e Xuvenil (Galician section) and Galtzagorri Elkartea (Basque section).
